
Bogor Police Resort has solved the murder case of a Cameroonian national, STR, whose body was found in Babakan Madang, Bogor Regency, West Java. Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, S.I.K., M.H., stated that five suspects have been arrested in various regions in connection with this case. Hendra explained the chronology of events, beginning with the discovery of a body in a bush filled with garbage in Babakan Madang, Bogor Regency on May 4, 2025. “It turned out that the corpse was a foreign national, or WNA, from Cameroon, a murder victim,” he said on Wednesday (June 11, 2025).
Bogor Police Chief, AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro, stated that the incident began when the victim said goodbye to his wife on May 3, 2025. However, the victim did not return home the next day and could not be contacted. “Around 10:00 AM on the same day, the family received information that the victim had been found dead in Kampung Bangkong Reang, Cijayanti Village, Babakan Madang District,” said Rio. The body was then taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, and successfully identified by the family.
This incident was reported to the Babakan Madang Police Station and followed up by the Bogor Police Criminal Investigation Unit. Rio explained that based on the report, the Mobile Detective Unit (Resmob) acted swiftly and successfully arrested five suspects in different areas. “The first arrest was made against suspect SG in the Bali Regional Police area, followed by K in the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police area. Then suspects UA and ZI were secured in the West Sumatra Regional Police jurisdiction, and suspect RI was arrested in the North Sumatra Regional Police area,” he said. All five suspects have admitted their involvement in the murder of the victim. Currently, all suspects are being held at the Bogor Police Headquarters for further investigation. “This case is a priority and will be thoroughly investigated in accordance with applicable laws,” concluded the Police Chief.
